A few years back my family started hosting an Oktoberfest. My dad brews beer and makes wine which is my fave! It has become a tradition now, and everyone comes dresses in character, tho some just go the Halloween route which is always a hoot. This year we made brats boiled in beer then grilled em', and had every thing else you could imagine. The best part is the deserts though, home made pumpkin cookies and pie! mmm. A family friend/photographer Dianna Reich took these photos go check out her work! http://www.facebook.com/DianaReichPhotography

Pumpkin Muffins
Autumn is my favorite time of year especially all the pumpkin! My mom makes amazing pumpkin cookies and Ive tried to replicate them and failed every time. So I outed for a box mix of pumpkin muffins with cream cheese filling mmmmmm. I substituted coconut oil and coconut milk for the generic stuff, I've been reading about all kinds of health benefits from coconut so I'm trying to incorporate it in what ever I can. I makes everything sweeter which is great for baking. I also added more Cinnamon and Nutmeg and these cute Halloween sprinkles. They are really good if I do say so my self!

In New York
I went to New York for the first time last week! It was for work so I tried to do as much as I could with such a short amount of time. When we got off the plane I enjoyed my first philly cheese steak sandwich! We stayed at Yotel with an awesome view of the city night and day. The hotel was really cool with purple lights every where and bunk beds in our rooms lol.
My coworker and I were able to squeeze a few things in one night. We took the subway to Soho to go to Top Shop, I hadn't ever been before this was my first time! we only had 20 minutes before the store closed but I was able to find a few things. Like these gradient aspen tree leggings and a pretty skull scarf. Afterwards we went to Bar 89, I enjoyed a Coconutini and she had a St. Germaine both delicious followed by this huge meal. Bar 89 had really cool art on the walls but the bathrooms were a hole other level. They were unisex with clear glass doors to each stall, and when you go in the glass fogs up! its the coolest thing ever. Apparently this has been around for a while but I must not got out much because I haven't seen anything like it. Our last stop was the Standard in the meat packing district where there's a bunch of bars with in walking distance from each other. We went to the roof top bar with a great view.
During Coterie (trade show) I was behind this lady on the escalator with highlighter yellow hair! I had to sneak a pic. She was also at least 80 years old!!
I was sad to leave NY the trip went by so fast and I was working majority of the time. I would love to go back for vacation to really get to see every thing. So until next time.....
